Threatened Plants Tasmania

What we do

We assist threatened plant species conservation and recovery throughout the State in close cooperation with the Threatened Species Unit specialists from the Biodiversity Conservation Branch (DPIW). Our main activities are searching for and monitoring threatened plant populations. We also do some priority weeding and management of key sites, especially where we have successfully applied for funding.

TPT has planned and conducted many field trips - check out the Wildcare Calendar of Events for details of those coming up. Members also receive emails about projects and activities that need volunteer assistance.

The TPT web site also includes details about field trips and other information about the Group and Tasmania's wonderful threatened plant species.

Contact our President Viv Muller (president@tpt.org.au) for more information about the group or what we have planned.

Where did we come from?

Threatened Plant Tasmania has been developed with the funding assistance of the WWF Threatened Species Network. Catriona Scott and Jenny Calder were employed with this funding to develop the group and its relationship with the Threatened Species Unit of DPIPWE and others involved in plant conservation. Thank you Catriona and Jenny for your efforts!
