Southern Wildlife Rescue and Care

What do we do?

We rescue, rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned tasmanian native wildlife  in an environment suitable to their individual needs and care requirements.

We provide overnight and emergeny care to our injured and orphaned wildlife.

We provide out of hours phone advice, instructions and reassurance to assist our general community regarding their concerns, situations & assistance with injured and orphaned wildlife.

We actively encourage positive community attitude and awareness (adults and children) through education and accurate information about native wildlife to assist in changing the many misconceptions regarding our unique tasmanian wildlife.

We aim to increase community awareness of destruction of habitat through agriculture, forestry, development, fire, feral animals, deliberate poisioning, 1080, shooting, trapping, cruelty and neglect.

We contribute towards the conservation of Tasmanian native wildlife.

We work co-operativley along side other organisations with similar aims and values.

We share information about the individual needs and care requirements of our native wildlife.

We support, advise, provide information, encouragement and assistance to new wildlife care volunteers through mentorship and friendship.

Upon request we provide Information session (age and skill appropriate), power point presentation or wildlife display.

Wildcare Bush Babies South encourages all community members young and old who have respect, compassion and shared interest in Tasmanian wildlife and their on going welfare and would like to invite other like minded people to join.

"Those who wish to pet and baby wild animals love them. But those who respect their natures and wish to let them live normal lives, love them more".
