WILDCARE Inc in Tasmania is pleased to present the new WILDCARBON Fund, to support the expansion and maintenance of bio-diverse carbon banks within Tasmania’s protected conservation reserve system.
The WILDCARE WILDCARBON Fund has been established by WILDCARE Inc in response to the passion and interest of WILDCARE’s Natural Partner Leishman Associates to minimize the environmental footprint of the many Conferences and Events that they organize in Tasmania.
The WILDCARE WILDCARBON Fund now provides an opportunity for everyone to follow Paula Leishman’s example and make a contribution towards repairing our planet and restoring a sustainable, natural balance.

Re-vegetating land is an effective tool to remove carbon from the atmosphere - an important step in the battle against climate change!
Through the WILDCARBON Fund, vegetation for biodiversity will be planted within safe, protected conservation reserves, as part of habitat creation and restoration projects, and threatened plant species recovery programs. The WILDCARBON Fund will use your contribution to create carbon pools that are protected for as long as there are National Parks and Conservation Areas in Tasmania. And the longer that forests and plant communities are protected and safe the better, not only for climate change mitigation, but through the WILDCARBON Fund, also for the biodiversity that relies on natural areas for their continued existence.
All donations of $2 or more to the WILDCARE WILDCARBON Fund are tax deductible.
WILDCARE Inc, a not-for-profit community volunteer organization and deductible gift recipient, will call for project submissions that contribute to the creation of additional carbon pools within reserved land that are supported by the Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania. The submissions will be assessed by the WILDCARE GIFT FUND Committee, an independent committee appointed by WILDCARE Inc, and funded only if the projects contribute to the objectives of the WILDCARBON Fund.
Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania is the Agency responsible for managing the conservation reserve estate in Tasmania – land amounting to 38% of Tasmania, in excess of 440 reserves including 15 National Parks and the globally significant Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. WILDCARE Inc has a long standing, positive and productive partnership with the Parks and Wildlife Service to protect and manage Tasmania’s reserved land, and conserve Tasmania’s natural and cultural heritage.
Paula Leishman and Associates is Tasmania’s premier and award-winning Conference and Event organizer and now a Natural Partner with WILDCARE Inc. Paula especially invites other conference and event organizers to join with her in reducing the environmental footprint of Conferencing in Tasmania, by giving to the WILDCARBON Fund.
