Courtesy driving
Do you have a clean drivers licence? Are you a careful driver? Do you like showing Tasmania to visitors? Do you know your way around Tasmania - especially to National Parks? Are you flexible and available on short notice? Are you happy to tackle long distance driving? Are you willing to adhere to State Service requirements in relation to driving (eg no smoking, regular rest breaks)?
Parks and Wildlife Service will provide a vehicle for the transportation of stranded walkers. Hopefully this will not happen often, but it is now a part of how Parks and Wildlife Service responds to fire emergencies.
A Police check is required. You can arrange this through your local Police Station (have them send the results to CONFIDENTIAL & PRIVATE Co-Chair WILDCARE Inc GPO Box 1751 Hobart 7001
To register your availability as a courtesy driver, simply log on and go to Manage my details. Then tick the CoutesyDriver box in the Community Action In Reserves Section of your record, or email Office@wildcaretas.org.au and ask the Office volunteers to alter your record for you.

Special projects and programs may require specialist skills and often ask for extended commitments, but they are some of the most intriguing and exciting volunteer projects around.
