Community Action in Reserves
- Do you have a favourite reserve?
- Would you like to get involved as a volunteer alongside the Rangers there?
- Are you interested in working with like-minded volunteers?
Join WILDCARE and register with your favourite reserve, or with any of our Community Action in Reserves groups listed below. Many reserves now have support groups called Community Action in Reserves or CARes groups. As a WILDCARE member you can register with any of the groups without additiona cost.
Members discuss works programs, organise working bees, and contribute to operational management decisions. They get involved in providing visitor education, track maintenance, building maintenance, general management work, help out in the office and heaps more. If there isn't a group operating at your favourite Reserve, why not take the lead and talk to the Rangers about forming a CARes group?
Are you a group that cares mainly for areas on public land, or undertakes voluntary nature conservation activities? Tired of all the red tape associated with running a group? Why not become a WILDCARE CARes group. Its simple to do and WILDCARE Inc takes on the administrative burden for you, and provides a whole lot more, allowing you to get on with volunteering in your favouirite place. Check out the WILDCARE Book under Forms for the easy formation steps, conditions and benefits of being a CARes group.
